bigger than earth

In an exciting new departure, the youngest artists taking part in ALL this year are from the Reception Class at Spinney Primary School. Facilitated by lead artist Deb Wilenski and supported by Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination, the pupils have been exploring local woodland and documenting their encounters. True to the spirit of ALL – in which art, text and place collide – the resulting exhibition This tree is bigger than earth uses image and language to articulate some of the ways in which children perceive a small, wild, tangled part of Cambridge. Measuring Up

Just over a month to go. Yesterday I received this annotated picture from Egidija and Collective Investigations, asking for the windows at the Sidgwick Site to be measured for their vinyl installation outside the Philosophy Library. It seemed like a good way to summarise the current state of play – all the scribbles, notes, ideas, daydreams and wish lists from the last few months are now being sized up, ordered, fabricated, drawn, made and  created.
