Artists’ Visit to Cambridge
A great day on Saturday with around 20 artists meeting to look at locations, discuss ideas and of course go punting. We started with a look round the Sidgwick Site, then moved into Cambridge before taking to the river. As part of the day we called in to Waterstone’s Bookshop, where our project space and A:L:L shop will be this year. We are delighted to have this collaborative opportunity and we have been given a great space to use, so many thanks to Rosie Sykes from Waterstone’s Cambridge and to our own Teresa Harrison for fixing this! Subterranean
Last year Kato Catling provided us with our first underground work, creating the wonderful Furniture in the basement of the Norfolk Street Project Space for us. This year, however, we are aiming to go truly subterranean, with Carl Gent hoping to create work in an underground sewer somewhere around Cambridge. This is just one of the many challenges facing our intrepid Locations Manager, Rebecca Ilett, who is working again this year with our artists to help them secure their exhibition space.
